Italian Poetry Society of
America
The Italian Poetry Society of America is a
not-for-profit Cultural Institution. Its fundamental aim is the promotion and support of
Italian poetry in the United States. To this aim, the IPSA will:
Stimulate the
study for Italian poetry through courses, seminars, readings, book presentations,
conferences, all aiming at reaching the America public interested in contemporary Italian
literature and culture;
promote the translation of important
books of Italian poetry which are still unavailable in English;
invite Italian poets to hold seminars on
specific aspects of their poetry;
organize exhibitions of manuscripts by
20th-century Italian poets;
sponsor the IPSA literary prize, awarded
yearly to a poetry book in Italian;
found a library of/on 20th-century
Italian poetry, and an archive of Italian poetry.
