Introduction to the Web Edition

Charles Franco

The presentation of this web edition of the publication by Giorgio Palmieri has two purposes: to provide an easy searchable access to the information already available in book form, and the opportunity to keep the bibliographical information updated as new material is published on a by-yearly basis. I have kept the reorganization of the material, as it was devised by the compilers, to a minimum. In addition, I added a search engine to facilitate the on-line browsers in their research.

The original book covers thirty years of publications of Forum Italicum. In this edition, the initial posting already contains an additional year of information. On a regular basis, it will be updated as new issues of the periodical are published. This  is part of the continuing effort of the Stony Brook Center for Italian Studies to offer Italinisti world-wide valuable information for their scholarships. We hope that this attempt will meet your needs and expectations. We will welcome any suggestion you may have in improving the effectiveness of our effort. In fact, contrary to a printed book which, once it is printed, cannot be updated until the next edition is published, an electronic medium offers the opportunity for on-going revisions.
